Christopher Raeburn’s is renowned for working with sustainable fabrics and for his holistic approach to design. For his SS14 show at London Collections: MEN, he chose to partner with Timberland for their footwear, a company that has similar ethical views. Many would agree that the Timberland boot is a staple to many a man’s wardrobe, and recognised as a global outdoor lifestyle brand.
Raeburn’s collection was inspired by the stoic men of World War Two’s Long Range Desert Group, and driven by the development and utilisation of textiles – including re-purposed surplus military fabrics. Timberland’s ‘The Earthkeepers Adventure Cupsole Chukka’ is built with leather from a Silver-rated tannery and sits on a sole made from recycled plastic bottles. Using Timberland technology, this modern take on a classic ensures a comfortable fit, breathable and is environmentally conscious.
Andy Hewat, Country Manager for Timberland UK & Ireland elaborates “Christopher Raeburn is a very talented designer and we are excited and honoured that he has chosen our Earthkeeper Adventure Cupsole Chukka for his Spring/Summer 2014 show. Christopher’s pioneering work to publicise sustainability mirrors our ethical stance and dedication to equip people to make a difference in their world”
