Founded only last year, Parisian based Simon Lextrait is a contemporary menswear label that likes to consider the connections between nature and culture.
He was born in Ardèche in the South of France and studied History of Art, Archeology & Anthropology and at the preparatory class at Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Lyon. He then studied Fashion Design at the Haute Ecole d’Art et de Design in Geneva (CH) and the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam (NL).
Simon describes his designs as “both a reaction and a response to his surroundings.” He enjoys observing social behaviour and his designs feature “deconstructed forms and geometric cuts, innovative materials and pragmatic pieces with a romantic soul.”
His 4th collection for Autumn Winter 2018 is titled ‘L’Homme qui court’ and was photographed by Jules Moskovtchenko with styling by Hamish Wirgman and model Josh. Shoes are by Testas Van Hoof.
