Next Thursday 6th February sees the launch of a great new collaboration between oki-ni, Nowartt & Master-Piece, releasing a stylish and rugged new backpack and tote bag.
History
Nowartt is a Japanese textile and graphic label created by designer and art director Toyoki Adachi. Nowartt stands for “now art textile = timeless modern art – / no war textile = peaceful art”. Nowartt graphics are widely used by major fashion brands, sports apparel brands and for outdoor apparel and accessory brands. Nowartt combines heritage and modern arts.
Master-Piece is renowned for creating outstanding luggage and accessories that “fuse design and function at high-level”. The brand was founded in Osaka in 1994 by Taichi Fujimatsu, who is behind state of the art design and the use of cutting edge technical fabrics.
Collaboration
Since oki-ni visited Nowartt’s design studio in Tokyo, the graphic design house have developed a series of prints that were inspired by the extra-terrestrial setting of oki-ni’s AW12 Video – The Launch. With this brief, they created two colourful prints that repeat familiar Nowartt themes of flora and fauna. As you would expect, both the Backpack and the Tote Bag are hand-crafted by Master-Piece to exacting standards, using luxurious leather, hardwearing Cordura nylon and soft-suede.
