German design and engineering has always been known for its efficiency, attention to detail and elegance. When you apply this to an automobile the result is some of the most precise, robust cars in the world with an unparalleled feeling of comfort and poise. Apply this same German skill and attention to detail to the design of an airport and the result is a whole new level of luxury. Munich’s airport has already proven its excellence by being Europe’s first 5 star airport and the newly completed Satellite Terminal has raised the bar even higher.
The Satellite Terminal is a joint collaboration between Lufthansa and Munich Airport, to extend the original Terminal 2. Built on schedule and on budget, the new terminal opened in April of this year with 27 new gates, 15 retail areas, 7 restaurants and cafes, 3 duty free zones and a staggering 5 Lufthansa lounges for Star Alliance customers with the required status and/or Business Class & First Class ticket holders to enjoy.
The terminal is made up of a sparse selection of bold geometric shapes, washed with soft natural sunlight, helping passengers to await and unwind in the cosiest of environments. The only worry you’ll have in the Satellite terminal is making your flight, as your body might just get too snug to want to leave.
