Macdonald Inchyra is a modern business hotel that started out as a traditional Scottish manor. The popular hotel benefits from a location in Falkirk that connects you swiftly to important road and rail networks. It features a state of the art spa and a steakhouse that draws in both business travellers and locals alike for its award-winning Scottish cuisine.
The hotel is well-appointed to a high standard with staff who understand the needs of both business guests and those seeking a fabulous weekend break. Located off junction 5 of the M9, both Glasgow and Edinburgh are within reach in about 30-35 mins with Edinburgh Airport just 25 minutes away. Polmont train station is 3 minutes away and connects to the mainlines from both cities with the historic city of Sterling a stone-throw away.
“During my stay, there was a large conference taking place, yet despite this being a large and busy hotel, that wonderful Scottish welcome that the area is famous for was in abundance.”
After a multi-million-pound investment, the hotel will tick many boxes for people visiting – the rooms are more generous than most standard hotels with very large comfortable beds and the general fixtures and fittings are of a high standard. Bathrooms are deluxe in standard, spacious and feature a generous amount of luxurious toiletries from Elemis. Most are fitted with a bath and power shower. Wi-fi is free and unlimited throughout the hotel and guest rooms and I found it to be speedy.
One of the hotels main attractions is the Vital Health & Wellbeing Club, with its impressive 20-metre swimming pool, modern gym, rock sauna, ice fountain and specialised treatments including massage, facials and manicures. Guests can book a spa day or a spa weekend and with all of the facilities at your disposal, you can enjoy a rigorous workout or simply lie back and be pampered.
The Scottish Steakhouse at Macdonald Inchyra is an award-winning AA Rosette restaurant and not just another ‘hotel restaurant’ by any means. It’s a popular hangout for locals which speaks volumes. Expect next-level comfort food taking full advantage of local produce and beef from Scottish-certified farms and some of the finest steaks in Scotland. It’s a large space, split into two (with private dining also available), yet has an intimate vibe.
There are plenty of accessible rooms on the ground floor but as always, it is best to contact the hotel in advance if you have any special needs. The hotel is a popular conference and wedding venue with a wealth of experience and the Inchyra Suite is one of the largest conference venues in Scotland, hosting up to 750 delegates.
