After a 4-year extensive renovation by Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, Hôtel de Crillon in Paris demonstrated their exceptional attention to detail when it re-opened in the Summer of 2017. Located in the North of the grand Place de la Concord, it sits close to Elysée Palace, the Tuileries Garden and the Champs-Élysées, in the very heart of Paris.
This Neoclassical palace dates back to the mid 18th century and was designed by prominent French architect Ange-Jacques Gabriel. Conservation architect Richard Martinet headed the team on the renovations back in 2013, which included artistic director Aline Asmar d’Amman and four Paris-based decorators — Chahan Minassian, Cyril Vergniol, Culture in Architecture and Tristan Auer. Together they were deeply sympathetic to the original building so the depth of history in and around it is widespread. There are 78 rooms with 36 suites and 10 Signature suites, two of which were designed by fashion impresario Karl Lagerfeld.
The extra large Signature Suites come at a price but for that special occasion, you won’t regret it. They include 3x Ateliers D’Artistes suites which are charming Parisian apartments at the top of the hotel, Suite Duc De Crillon, named after the buildings most famous owner, Suite Jardin, the huge Grands Appartements which celebrates the City of Lights throughout its decor. Suite Louis XV is magnificent, to say the least, Suite Marie-Antoinette is majestically elegant whilst the opulent Suite Bernstein pays homage to famous composer Léonard Bernstein, who regularly stayed at the hotel throughout history. This suite features a dining room for six guests, and an exclusive 1,205-square-foot (112 m²) private terrace overlooking Place de la Concorde with views of the Eiffel Tower and other major landmarks.
Dining options will leave you spoilt for choice at Hôtel de Crillon. There are three restaurants – L’Ecrin, Brasserie D’Aumont, Jardin D’Hiver (for tea and desserts) plus Les Ambassadeurs Bar & Lounge. L’Ecrin holds a Michelin star under Chef Christopher Hache. This is Paris, so as you would expect, the food is very sophisticated and will marvel the palette. Expect the finest Foie Gras, Black Truffle and Crayfish, to name a few specialities. The wine menu is exceptional with the expertise to match, so a dining experience here is an excellent choice for that special occasion.
Hôtel de Crillon’s location is perfect for sight-seeing, shopping and romantic late-night walks. If you’re looking for something exclusive in Paris with impeccable service, then this is, without doubt, the venue.
