“When I started out, I focused on youth and subcultures,
and Fred Perry was one of my many inspirations.”
– RAF SIMONS
Raf Simons maintains his long-term collaboration with British heritage brand Fred Perry, with the release of this new Spring 2018 capsule collection. Known to be inspired by youth and subcultures Simons again delves into the Fred Perry design archive to realise a fresh new collection in this latest collaboration. Teaming up again with director Sharna Osborne, the concept is brought to life with film, using model Jonas Glöer at Tomorrow is Another Day, whilst Patrick Waugh was commissioned to create the final collage artwork.
Staples like the Fred Perry pique polo shirt is subtly reinvented by Simons, with contrasting collars and the use of duct tape is seen throughout various pieces, applying a do-it-yourself attitude where the tape is purposely non-symmetrical across collars, side seams and underneath the embroidered Laurel Wreath.
