A combination of colour and stripes mixed with staple pieces complete the latest collection for Fred Perry X Loverboy. Created by Scottish born, London-based Designer, Charles Jeffrey, he creates playful high fashion with an exploration of form, texture and optimism within the punk movement. The two brands have created a previous collection focussing on plaid which is a homage to the origin of Charles, and the punk movement.
The aesthetic of the collection is noticeably more simplistic yet retains fun elements, that are oversized in shape and accentuated with metallic threads and drawcords. The colour-blocked knit delivers casual wear with a special edge. Jeffrey studied the music scene in Britain in the mid-2000s where two music genres combine seamlessly; electronic music and indie rock. The revolution created sound with high energy and vibrancy which reflects in the collection shown.
Overall, it correctly showcases the designs of Fred Perry, and the eccentricity and flamboyance of Jeffrey. The collection drops on Thursday 9th of December and can be viewed on both sites from this date.
