Heritage brand Farah has taken inspiration from graphic designer and Factory Records partner Peter Saville for their Spring/Summer 2018 collection. Saville designed many of the label’s infamous album covers and also the interior of legendary Manchester nightclub, The Hacienda.
The colour palette for the collection is taken directly from the colours that featured frequently in Saville’s designs, including the iconic yellows that were synonymous with Factory cover artwork and throughout the Hacienda. From the New Order album covers, we see shades of green and blue.
The collection references the iconic yellow & black hazard strip from The Hacienda, the pill artwork of New Order’s ‘Fine Time’ plus an interpretation of Edward Wadsworth’s Dazzle Camo. The collection features shirts with waffled checks, stripes, dobbies and twisted yarn materials. Great additions include striped tees, polo’s, smart summer tailoring, shorts, joggers, jackets and swimwear.
