Family-owned and run for nearly 30 years, by Robert and Janette Allen and their son Michael, you can feel that love and commitment in the atmosphere and it’s noticeable in the quality of the personal service given. And for the family, that’s just an everyday thing – work hard, excel and watch the customers return, time after time.

The accommodation features 11 ensuite bedrooms which are modest with no frills, yet completely comfortable and provide everything you will need for a satisfying sleep. It’s just what you should expect at a quaint coaching inn. Certainly, don’t be fooled by the ordinariness of this place, because ordinary it is not – just wait until you taste the award-winning food.

Affectionally known by the locals as The Elph’, who enjoy a tipple or two of hand-pulled fine ales, spirits, and gastronomy. As a testament to customer satisfaction, in 2017, the landlords were awarded a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for both hotel and restaurant.
