Hentsch Man has collaborated with award winning global retailer MR PORTER for an
exclusive capsule collection
.
First launched in 2008 by Brazilian-born Alex Hentsch and businessman Max von Hurter, Hentsch
Man was created with a combined desire for the perfect white shirt. The brand’s collections have
since evolved into precisely curated ranges of elegantly tailored men’s pieces.
Alexia Hentsch wanted to work with an unusual 1940’s vintage archive print that would explain the
collection’s sole narrative. “Designing a small 9-piece collection is fun, as all you need is one great
print to tell a story. I used the same print in shirting and linings, and added a perfect striped shirt in
the same colour combination. I wanted to reference classic Hentsch Man, whilst making the capsule
a one-off.”
Alexia Hentsch initially built on a strong Americana reference and later added a Hawaiian
component by overlapping bright pink flowers on a blue and grey toned pattern. Forming the
collection’s base, this whimsical print is seen in the lining of a versatile lightweight navy bomber
jacket, as well as on two short sleeved shirts which include Henstch Man’s signature comb in the
pocket. These standout pieces are then complemented by a striped cotton shirt, as well as a
selection of blue and grey sweats and tailored shorts.
Toby Bateman, Buying Director at MR PORTER.COM sees the collection as a modern take on
spring dressing. “Hentsch Man’s use of colour and the graphic floral update on an archive print
make this an exciting capsule collection for Spring 2014. The short sleeved shirts are a
contemporary way to wear the Hawaiian trend, and the signature Hentsch Man attention to detail,
from the perfectly cut shirt to the comb slot in the chest pockets, make for a stand-out
collaboration, which our customers won’t be able to find anywhere else but at MR PORTER.”
The nine piece collection is now available on MR PORTER.COM
