During our trip to Cannes, shopping was always high on the agenda, but we didn’t think pastry and chocolate would figure into that. Until we discovered the delights that Cannes had to offer that is.
A mere 7-minute walk from Cannes railway station is J.C. Collignon Boulangerie Pâtisserie, an unassuming delight that demonstrates the flair of French baking. The bread alone is enough reason to visit this place, whether for fresh baguettes or a selection including fresh supplies of salt-free bread, grain bread, rye bread, wholemeal bread, pizza, and quiche. We must also mention the huge selection of pastries and the savoury treats which will leave your mouth watering. So no excuse to go hungry.
As for the ‘sweet’ selection, we’re going to let the pictures do most of the talking, but expect every combination of fresh fruit with chocolate, fresh cream, whipped cream, cocoa, honey, syrup combined with dried fruits, nuts, and pastries. Timeless classics like macarons, petits fours, and chocolate eclairs will please the masses, but a word of warning – don’t shop here when hungry or if you missed dessert at lunch, the temptation will be too strong.
A local told us that Boulangerie Pâtisserie Collignon also has an incredible special selection during the seasons including Christmas & Easter chocolates and cakes. Make sure you pay a visit when visiting Cannes.
Special thanks to the staff for making us feel welcome during our visit.
