Dos Casas Hotel & Spa in Mexico’s San Miguel de Allende is the fruit of ten years renovation of two 18th-century residences. Discover colonial-era architecture fused with contemporary interior design and warm Mexican hospitality.
The hotel has just 12 rooms and suites which have all been individually designed to a luxurious standard and include a rooftop terrace with jacuzzi in the Signature Suite and a spa bath and steam room in the elegant Rooftop Suite Town View. In the townhouse, the three-story Private Residence comprises a living room, dining room, small kitchen, king-size master bedroom with a bathtub and a rooftop terrace with a Jacuzzi plus private entrance.
Owned and developed by Alberto Laposse, a true purveyor, whose influences are obvious from the architectural statements to the food. As a former baker, the on-site restaurant Áperi is pretty special and has already claimed its crown in the local area under executive chef Olivier Deboise.
Co-designed by fellow architect Germán Velasco, traditional materials including stone, marble, wood, iron, leather, and brass pay homage to Mexico’s rich colonial heritage whilst sharing space with design pieces by leading Latin American artists. Luxury comforts include marble baths with rain showers and 400-thread-count cotton linens on all beds.
The award-winning IRIS Spa is housed in a 3rd building and it takes inspiration from the healing caves of ancient Greece – focussing on both body and soul with massage, gym, sauna, hammam and various wellness treatments.
After a busy day, the communal rooftop terrace is the perfect place to unwind with cocktails and fine wines whilst overlooking the epic 16th-century skyline of San Miguel de Allende.
