The Copenhagen-based brand Astrid Andersen returns to London Fashion week with its 20th seasonal collection with a strong narrative of a futuristic view of HOME. This is apparent by the all-local casting within the Norrebrø neighbourhood which has been home to Andersen’s studio and shops since 2005.
The emanation of the Autumn/Winter collection has undertones of streetwear with variations of plaid alongside a strong sense of eccentricity with layered patterning and vibrancy. Astrid’s collection this season leads on from the first deadstock capsule launched earlier this year consisting of signature styles in an array of collage textiles.
With the pandemic a year in, fashion brands are finding different ways to express their creativity and showcase new collections. Astrid’s first digital catwalk oozes optimism + a sense of playfulness. With ethereal music by Tomas Barfod & Jeppe Kjellberg and slow, soft movements the film really creates an idea of the future.
The digital catwalk was filmed at Alchemist in Copenhagen, which follows the idea of home. Alchemist’s philosophy is very much in sync with Andersen’s in creating an extension beyond the present moment, with an experience transcending in all elements relating.
