“Homesick” is the title of the Blood Brother SS17 Collection, and this season, for the first time, will be showcasing at London Collections Men. The British brand takes inspiration from the classic British Summer holiday, reflecting a way of life for nostalgic Brits.
“Inspired by writing home on a postcard, rushing to a sun trap in the city, or making the most of a long weekend camping, this collection is a dedication to those making the most of a sunny day in an often rainy ‘Blighty” said designers Nick Biela and James Waller.
With elements of rugged workwear throughout, the collection also features light wools with a signature white pinstripe, summer checks and deep blues – defining a more relaxed vibe for the brand. The tailored trousers have a wider leg, with a cool buckle fastening at the waist and ankle. Statement pieces include an oversized trench – light but fully weatherproofed for the surprises that a UK Summer can bring. The fisherman’s Gillet features which layered with a stylish suede bomber and features oversized pockets.
The detailing and use of materials clearly shares the vision of the two designers and expect some very cool prints, including more contemporary branding and appliqué patches with deck-chair stripes and a pin up girl in a postcard style, nodding to the nostalgia of the post-war Summer holidays.
