Little information out there at the moment, except the Aspark ‘Owl‘ is an electric supercar from Japan. Supercar you ask? Why? Well, it recorded 0-62 mph in 1.89-seconds, slightly quicker than the 1.9-second expected acceleration time on the upcoming Tesla Roadster. They unveiled the vehicle at the Frankfurt motor show last year, but have only recently completed speed tests.
They plan to build 50 units, made from carbon fibre and powered by an all-electric drivetrain that produced the equivalent of a blistering 1000bhp. Expected weight is 850 kg with a fully digital dashboard and as you can see, it’s a stunning looking sports car with many influences. Only time will tell how long the battery system will stay powered up, but it opens up many new possibilities for the future of electric sports cars.
