The new Porsche 911 GT3 RS is a high-performance sports car with a 4-litre engine, six-cylinders and blistering 520 horse-power. This is a car for serious performance enthusiasts and it has the classic Porsche looks to match. This motorsport-inspired car is not limited to the exterior, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, reaching a top speed of 312 km/hm, it’s not for the faint-hearted.
As you can tell from the film, the familiar exhaust notes on the new 911 GT3 RS are even more toxic thanks in part to the titanium exhaust system and don’t expect much sound insulation, because you won’t want it or get it. At the front of the vehicle, the 20-inch lightweight wheels with newly developed 265/35 sports tyres on the front axle intensify agility and steering response, whilst the 21inch wheels with 325/30 tyres at the rear axle improve traction. The performance-enhanced engine has a running-gear setup that features re-calibrated rear axle steering, designed specifically for maximum accuracy. The chassis and ball joints on all arms provide even greater precision than conventional elastokinematic bearings, offering outstanding driving dynamics.
The 911 GT3 RS has an aerodynamic wide-body, carbon fibre fenders and hood and to keep the car light, makes considerable use of aluminium. The aggressive front intakes keep the beast cool whilst larger rear intakes are cast into the arches for optimum ventilation. As standard, we see rear wheel steering, dynamic engine mounts and a torque-vectoring electronic rear differential. The specially calibrated seven-speed PDK will help you reach up to 9,000 rpm with outstanding performance.
For those looking to improve performance further, an optional Weissach package is available for a further weight reduction. This includes additional carbon components for the chassis, interior and exterior, as well as optional magnesium wheels. In its lightest configuration, this package reduces the weight of the 911 GT3 RS down to 1,430 kilograms.
The Clubsport package is also available for the 911 GT3 RS at no extra cost and includes a roll-over bar, a manual fire extinguisher, preparation for a battery disconnect switch and a six-point belt for a sporty driving adventure. If you’re looking to take the family and two dogs to the seaside for the day, then it’s bloody useless, but for thrill seekers, it’s a bad-ass monster.
