Wanderlust Wine has launched Wine on Demand, the first wine merchant in the capital delivering wine to Londoners within the hour via their website from 9am to 10.30pm, 7 days a week.
Specialising in hand-picked, quality sustainable wines from smaller producers around the world including Australia, France, Hungary, Italy, New Zealand, Romania, UK & USA. Depending on bustling London traffic, you can start dinner and have your favourite bottles delivered within the hour, in time for serving or if you’re a dinner party host and the wine is more popular than you thought – order more without the stress of having to run to the supermarket. Organically farmed wines are available as well as biodynamic and vegan choices.
Wanderlust Wine’s founder Richard Ellison previously worked in banking, was a Chef and Food & Wine Technologist. His passion for wine propelled him to add this service to his business. His aim is to ‘help wine lovers explore the boundaries of the wine world, with new wines, new regions and new styles’. With direct sourcing, they are able to provide better value.
Ellison says: “This represents a significant step up from what is currently available to Londoners – we only charge a small £2 premium for the convenience versus the 35% fees which other London delivery companies charge to vendors, which is then passed on to the consumer. Ordering direct through us, as actual wine merchants, means there is more in it for the producer and consumer. At the end of the day, this is about Wanderlust Wine providing amazing quality wines at fair prices at any time of the day, 7 days a week.”
To order from the Wanderlust Wine website, select the ‘Wine on Demand’ button which will display the curated range of wines available by the hour. Addresses in zone 1 will be charged a delivery fee of £4.99, and fee increases depending on how far the courier has to travel. When an order has been placed, a tracking link will be sent via text message. The service is available 7 days a week, taking orders from 9 am to 10.30pm via www.wanderlustwine.co.uk.
