November saw a new addition to picturesque Copenhagen – Sanders Hotel. This inspired and vibrant boutique hotel sits comfortably amongst the cultural centre of a beautiful City, surrounded by the royal castles, art galleries, classic theatres and historical architecture.
With the exception of a flawless service, design is the foundation at the Sanders Hotel – featuring speciality furnishings with commissioned floral prints and chic service wear, designed by Older Paris who have previously collaborated with Alexander McQueen and Isabel Marant. Owned by former principal dancer at the Royal Danish Ballet, Alexander Køplin, we also see a theatrical narrative running throughout the hotel.
Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark turned 850 years old this year, a city rich in culture. It lies on the coastal islands of Zealand and Amager with a population of over half a million. White Line Hotels are excited to unveil this new addition to their elite group of bespoke hotels in this collaboration with London-based architect and interior design team LIND + ALMOND.
“Sanders, Copenhagen has the ability to act as a bustling Townhouse whilst also feature as a beautiful retreat. An exciting addition to Copenhagen showcasing the latest in culture and design” said Iain Ainsworth, Founder of White Line Hotels.
TATA
Right on the doorstep of the theatre and creative district is Bar Tata, with its decadent yet cool vibe, taking inspiration from the red velvet curtain at the Royal Danish Theatre. Expect classic cocktails served by highly qualified bartenders, who will not be afraid to entertain with a new twist on the old classics.
ACCOMMODATION
The 56 bedrooms range from a comfy single to a one-bedroom apartment suite, all of which feel more like a warm inviting home than a hotel. Details are clear, from the signature green to oak doors, wooden floors and the specially commissioned artwork on the walls, from London art consultancy Dais Contemporary. Lounge in the freestanding bathtub, whose claw-like feet cling to the timber whilst you soak.
Rooftop Conservatory & Sanders Kitchen
Overlooking the rooftops of Copenhagen is The Rooftop Conservatory, open from morning until night, serving breakfast, dinner and everything in between in an urban setting that resembles an open-air garden. Sanders Kitchen will change their menu’s often depending on the supply of seasonal local produce, with a no-fuss menu inspired by the Mediterranian. As the name suggests, don’t be surprised if the Chef swoops by to say hi, in the Kitchen.
Sanders Hotel has pedigree, a colonial spirit and the passion of its owner is there to be experienced by all who visit.
